The United Arab Emirates are endowed with a complete healthcare system funded by the local government and a private medical sector enjoying great growth and providing a high standard of healthcare to the population. Healthcare services are regulated both at a federal and at a single emirate level. Public healthcare services are provided by a range of regulating authorities in the United Arab Emirates including the Ministry for Health and Prevention, the Abu Dhabi Health Authority (HAAD), the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and the Emirates Health Authority (EHA).
To date healthcare provision in the United Arab Emirates is mainly funded by the government. However in their current path to upgrade and reform the system, public-private financial partnerships are on the increase.
