As part of the activities of the Lazio Region in view of the participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, the President of Lazio Innova Nicola Tasco met a delegation from Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park led by the Managing Director and CEO H.E. Hussain Al Mahmoudi and Senior Manager Mr. Mourad Mountassir.
During the meeting, they talked about big data and tools to support business and research, as a strategic lever to promote innovation, startups and innovative SMEs in a new model of sustainable development.
These topics are closely linked to the objectives of the universal exhibition in the Emirates and are consistent with what the Lazio Region is putting in place to best support the internationalisation programmes of local companies that want to enter the Arab markets in particular. Among the latest news is the inauguration of the Lazio Region Business Hub at the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE.
“The meeting with the delegation from Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park – stated Nicola Tasco – is a further confirmation of the joint commitment between Lazio Region and the chamber system represented at the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Dubai and the production, technology and research world of the Arab Emirates: a fundamental synergy to develop new opportunities for Lazio companies and to spread the Made in Italy label”.
SRTI Park represents 16 universities in the UAE, with over 70,000 students. One of its objectives is to develop a “triple helix” model of innovative processes between universities, research centres, government and companies.
