On Saturday 20 November, at 2.30 p.m. (Italian time), 5.30 p.m. (Dubai time) in the Amphitheatre of the Italian Pavilion, concert “Connections” with the JuniOrchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, conducted by Maestro Simone Genuini.
The JuniOrchestra dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia is an orchestra of 125 musicians between 15 and 20 years old. Under the expert guidance of conductor Simone Genuini, the talented youngsters of Santa Cecilia will perform a concert entitled “Connections”. The programme unites composers of different ages and nationalities in space and time and includes unforgettable pieces from the classical repertoire: after a fitting tribute to the great Austro-German symphonic tradition (with pieces by Mozart and Beethoven) and to the Italian opera (with Bellini’s Norma and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana), the concert will end with a symphonic selection from Bernstein’s West Side Story, a piece capable of unleashing the overwhelming and contagious energy of this young orchestra.
The event is promoted by Lazio Region.
