Expo 2020 Dubai presents the Women’s Pavilion

Expo 2020 Dubai confirms its commitment to gender equality and female empowerment, revealing the creative content and the programme of the Women’s Pavilion, with the cooperation of Cartier. The main concept is that a truly equal and just world can only be built through the full and equal participation of women in all fields of life.

New Outlooks exhibition at the Women’s Pavilion will honour the significant and often forgotten contribution of women by showing that when women prosper, so does the entirety of humanity.

At an interview with Becky Anderson, an anchor-woman at CNN, His Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai along with Cyrille Vigneron, President and CEO of Cartier International, both illustrated the role of Expo 2020 in offering a global platform to empower girls and women, so as to build awareness on the Sustainable Development Goal of gender equality and female empowerment.

A diversified community of creators and artists were engaged in the concept and the design of the pavilion. Amongst others Nadine Labaki, Lebanese actress, screenwriter and director – Oscar, Golden Globe and César nominee; Mélanie Laurent, French actress, producer, singer and pianist; Laura Gonzalez, French architect; and El Seed, a French-Tunisian street artist, the inventor of “calligraffiti”.
